• Taking a watershed approach

Audubon has organized key national, regional and state staff members around its three over-arching conservation goals for the Mississippi River Watershed. In general, those goals are to enhance birds, other wildlife and their habitats; to improve water quality, focusing on reducing excess nutrients that lead to the Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone; and to restore natural river flows and functions where possible to, among other things, stem the rapid loss of coastal wetllands in Louisiana.
